01 ACCESS
Africa’s tech, startup and investment ecosystems are challenged by a lack of access to funding, resources, and networks. Many startups and investors on the continent struggle to find the support they need to grow their businesses and funds.
02 FUNDING
African startups often find it difficult to raise funds due to the perception of high risk and low returns. Investors struggle to gain access to markets, reliable data and localised support, and the nascency of markets makes it difficult to demonstrate exits and returns that attract Limited Partners.
03 OPPORTUNITY
Yet the opportunity in Africa is unparalleled, the continent is rich in both human and natural resources. Over 60% of Africa’s 1.3 billion population is under the age of 25, it’s home to over 60% of the world's uncultivated arable land and is becoming a hotbed for technological innovation.
04 GROWTH
Combine this with the fact Africa is home to one of the fastest growing tech-skilled workforces, where mobile penetration is already 80% and has the world’s fastest growing internet adoption. All coming at a time when demand to deliver tech-based solutions to address unique global challenges is surging.

This is why Ventures 54 was born, to create and scale ecosystem infrastructure that supports those building and investing in companies working on the biggest challenges and opportunities facing the continent of Africa. We stimulate growth between Africa’s emerging tech, startup, investment ecosystems and the rest of the world.
